My Favorite Joint

I'm lucky to have this huge antique store close by that I love. I do more window shopping than anything because the booth owners really jack up their prices. Some items that I find in the antique store I will also come across at a thrift store for just a few dollars whereas the antique store will have the same dish priced at $45. A huge difference! So I'm very choosy on what I purchase. Besides that, I absolutely love to browse around and the time just flies by because there's so much to look at. Some booths are just packed full of stuff. It's nice to see items that I haven't seen since my childhood. Like toys, bowls, drinking glasses etc. I just love the items of days gone by. I wasn't planning of taking any pictures. Then it dawned on me that I'm blogging again and I know that many people will show photos of antique shops or their very own booths on their blogs which always look so lovely of course. So I took out my cell phone and started snapping some pics hoping I wouldn't get into any trouble because just about every booth warns you that the cameras are watching. And trust me, these are just a few pics compared to the size of this store. But here they are. Some pics are very grainy. You wouldn't know that I have a Blackberry. Maybe the flash isn't working or something. I hope you enjoy the pics!

I had a shop for many years and I enjoyed it so much. Last year I closed it. Looking at the photos of the one you window shop at made me miss mine.

  2. Thanks for stopping by my place!

This post was great! I loved each and every photo! Antique hunting/browsing and thrifting is a favorite pastime of mine!

And, yes, what I had to do with blogger was go and set up a new email address first, and then use that address as the ID for the new blog, Once I did that I had no problem uploading photos.

    All the best,
    Eileen

  3. Ann, I am so glad you are blogging again. I have missed you. Husband and I had a booth at an antique mall years ago. It was fun but hard work, I miss it but not the hard work. I love going and looking in the antique and flea markets, one never knows what one will find. Have a blessed day and welcome back. Madeline

  4. Hello!
Loveing that chenille bedspread you took pictures of. I can never get enough of chenille. The thrift stores and antique stores certainly have jacked up prices around here. I hate it when I go into Goodwill and find something that is worth only about a dollar, marked for ten dollars.

We tried a coconut a very long time ago. Had pretty much the same experience as you did. Our coconut wasn't scored, so it took about 100 whacks before that baby finally opened. There was so much excitement and build-up. When it finally opened, my daughter said, "All that work for this?" I have been buying my coconut milk in a can ever since!

    Have a great week!
