I just love Lilac shrubs. The fragrance of the blooms just send out that spring has sprung. I just love the smell of Lilacs. It goes back to my childhood days when a neighbor had them just outside her bedroom window. All you had to do was walk past the house and you can smell the clusters of the flowers very strongly. Mmm. Such a sweet smell.
I have tried to plant Lilac shrubs in the past with no luck. They would die on me. =( My husband added a few shrubs around the house about few years ago. This would be the third year that my husband planted a Lilac shrub for me outside my bedroom window. Wasn't that sweet and thoughtful of him? ♥ Well the past couple of years, the new shrub survived. Early this spring I went around the yard and did my pruning of the shrubs. Which your suppose to do, right before they bloom. They still have to be dormant. The backyard I noticed the shrubs are now just starting to bloom.
I decided to peek out of my bedroom window over here on Peek-A-Boo Street to check out my Lilac shrub that I pruned.
Oh my gosh...I couldn't believe it! Not only did it survive the winter, but it started to bloom for the first time. Like I said, it's the third season since my husband had planted it.
So I had to capture a pic for all of my viewers to see. Their little, but if you look closely, you can see the buds. Right under my bedroom window.....
I can just imagine in a few more years that I'll be waking up one morning to the sweet smell of Lilacs flowing through my bedroom window.
Have a fabulous spring day!
Before I sign off, I would like to make a prayer request. It's not for me. It's very hard to blog when one of my bloggy friends, Madeline is in the hospital. Her daughter Deann has been keeping all of us bloggers up to date on her condition. If you would take a moment and visit Madeline's blog http://madelinesalbum.blogspot.com/ and write a comment for her, I'm sure that Madeline and her family would very much appreciate the love. Thanks.
I'm signing off..........from Peek-A-Boo Street!
