Night Work- Book Review

I've just finished 'Night Work' by Steve Hamilton. It was a real suspenseful novel to the very end of the book and I mean right up to the last page. I've never read a book where it held your suspense all the way to the end of the book like that. I liked it better then the 'The Ruins' that I have read just recently.
I received my city paper last week and it was talking about a book I keep seeing, 'A Cold Day In Paradise.' I thought "What in the heck is with this book? It's showing up everywhere." Then I noticed the author Steve Hamilton. I was like, "I think that's the author of the book I'm reading right now." It was!
My city paper went on to say that Steve Hamilton's book, 'A Cold Day In Paradise' was going to be added to my local libraries book club. He is also making an appearance at my city's library. I thought that was pretty neat.
Apparently all of his books though are from a series. But the one that I just read, 'Night Work' isn't from the series. The author said that he was taking a break from the series when he wrote 'Night Work.'
I was going to read 'A Cold Day In Paradise' but I probably won't now that I know it's from a series. I don't always read so I don't know if I could commit to a series.
But it seems like I have been doing more reading lately. I just picked up Danielle Steel's book 'Amazing Grace' now in paperback. I can't wait to start reading that. She is one of my favorite authors. I do read a lot of her books and I've been trying to broaden my horizons with new authors. But when I was up at Barns & Noble and seen that there was only two of her books left...well of course I just couldn't resist! So what have you all been reading lately? Who is your favorite author?
