A Relaxing Kind of Day

Wow. I have absolutely not a thing to do today. Summer vacation is great. I am really, really enjoying this. Even more so since I am getting older. Not babysitting grand kids during the summer months. Slept in. Worked out. No make-up kind of day. Let my hair dry naturally outside on the patio. I'm getting to that point in my life where I don't care if I leave the house without make-up. Sigh. Hmm. What can I do today. Hmm. Guess I'll do some thrift shopping...
     Hey, I'm a Mother....
A Pier One label on the back for $15. I got it for $5. It's like a shell platter...
I love teapots and rarely do I find one I like. But when I seen this one....
Heavens to Betsey. What in the world are these things for any how - Top Hats? I see them all the time.  This one was for $10 (Cringe). Like I said, I like to make a dollar stretch. Fenton? I do not know but the tag did say 'Daisy and Button' pattern. It's 4 in. and I never came across one this tall.
 A bowl...
A milk white pedestal bowl. I can see maybe serving cherries in this....
As silly as it may sound, I've never did own one of these ice boxes. I just need to find some of those little tongs to go with it.
And I'm blaming you gals for this one. A lot of bloggers have wine corks in this and that type of jars so here is the beginning of my wine cork collection. You wanna stop by for some wine? Must be red wine though.
I see these darn shaped dishes all the time. I wish I could remember who's blog I seen them on. Cause she was saying how these shaped dishes are bone dishes. You set them on the side of your plate to set your bones from your dinner on. So I picked up these one...
Thank you so much for stopping over here on Peek-A-Boo Street and visiting with me.
I'm siging off.............from Peek-A-Boo Street!

  1. These are some great finds. All are very pretty and nice. Enjoy your summer. Have a blessed evening. Madeline

  2. Well, apparently we're soul sisters. I find myself more willing day by day to leave the house without my "face on". I still like to have a little powder foundation, but I'll zip right out in my capri sweats and blah face more and more often. I'm just too "50" to worry about it. Ha!

I also love to thrift and love your thrifty finds. My two favorite things are the teapot and the pedestal dish.

  3. Love your finds,
    they are great.

I don't like going without makeup
even though I hate wearing it
and especially taking it off - what a job!
I look like a ghost without the stuff.

    Lovely pics

ps you might be interested in linking up with Raindrops and Daisies Green Day at some stage
    - we would love to have you
and that photo f the teapot would be perfect!

  4. OH my goodness! What great bargains. I think you might have picked up some Westmoreland Milk Glass... lovely. Really pretty bargains! Are we great shoppers, or what??? :)

  5. Wow! You found a lot of great things. I've heard of bone china, but never dishes for your bones. Makes sense. Years ago, everything one owned had a purpose. I love the summer holiday -- days free to do whatever I want. Cook, bake, crochet, cross-stitch, piddle. I don't wear makeup either. I take a break from the blowdryer and let my hair dry naturally. It's a nice break from the regular rat race during the school year. Now if only I could talk myself into cleaning and organizing around here. :) Hope you have a great week. Tammy

  6. A great way to be, relaxing with little else to do but go thrift shopping. You found some treasures.

  7. Hey again. I don't know if you get notifications of comments on old posts so wanted to let you know I just left comments on about your last 5 posts. :) Trying to get caught up around here. Thanks for all your visits to my corner of the world. Blessings, Tammy

I cherish each and every comment. Thanks for visiting Peek-A-Boo Street.
