Just Adding To It

I found a couple of items to add to my new china cabinet...

But of course...another tea cup! =) Isn't the leaf inside the tea cup so different? Usually you see the flower. Yes this one is from England. I did some research on the Internet the other day on collecting tea cups. Remember in a few posts ago, I mentioned that I did not like collecting tea cups from Japan. That I preferred collecting tea cups from England because, to me they seem like the big tea drinkers.
Well. Apparently some Japan tea cups are highly collectible. Especially the ones that say "Occupied Japan." During the WWII, when America occupied Japan for a short time, Japan was not allowed to send anything out for trading unless everything was marked, "Occupied Japan." Well the Japanese did not like that. So they were still sending out stuff that just said, "Made in Japan." So there you have it. Apparently there isn't a lot of items that read, "Occupied Japan." So those items are highly collectible. When I went into my antique shop the other day, I didn't come across a tea cup, but I did see a knick knack with, "Occupied Japan." I didn't purchase it but knew that some collector out there was going to really like that piece. So be on the look out for "Occupied Japan."
On another note, I did come across a figurine that I just absolutely loved and that I just absolutely had to have...

Isn't she beautiful? Her name is Lady Caroline. It's "Master Porcelain" by Homco. She is about 9 inches tall. I looked her up on the Internet and she is highly sought after as well. Especially if she if set on a wooden base. Mine is not. It also has a little chip up top on a flower in her hair. But that's OK by me.
Well I hope you all are having a great week!
