China Cabinet Update

I bought this antique china cabinet last spring. I remember how excited I was when we brought it home. As I was polishing it up, I could imagine it housing some old woman's special belongings that she treasured. What kind of china did she display? Maybe the china was a wedding gift. What did she keep in the drawer? Maybe there were some embroidered hand-me-down linens from her mother. I just loved conjuring up some romantic life this woman had. Who was she? What was she like? Was she happy? Whoever she was, I now possess this beauty, which I will cherish for probably my life time.
I had so much fun filling this china cabinet. Moving things around so that they display just perfectly. And as I see it, there is still plenty room to add more things to it.
But I just wanted to share with you how it has evolved over the year.
Here. Let me open the doors for a better look inside...
I just purchased this cake stand. Never had one and always wanted one. See the girl figurine setting on top? Got her for four bucks at a garage sale...
My two favorite tea cups...
Yep. This is an Annalee stuffed grannie mouse with a shawl. To cute. Had to get it. It cost five dollars...
Yes that is a regal Royal Albert tea cup sitting there in all it's splendor. Okay. Maybe that one is my favorite. To the right of the photo is a candy dish I purchased. It has a gold tone handle. It looks like something Grandma gave you. So pretty.
And this is my two tier plate that I just love. I was so happy when this and my cake stand fit into my china cabinet for display. I wouldn't want to have such pretty dishes hidden in some top cupboard...
Oh...Maybe this one is my favorite. Well it's special to me none the less. My mom-in-law (and Dad=) ) got this for me for by birthday a couple of years ago. It's very special to me. I will cherish it forever. It's a matching tea cup with a tea pot. Just love it. See the silver platter in the background?...
See. So the ole china cabinet has some things in it. But it's still got a lot of room for more pretty things. You just got to tuck it in here and there.
I hope you enjoyed seeing my china cabinet.
