I Don't Want To Say Goodbye..........

I just can't believe summer is over. For some reason this year, I just don't want to let go of the lazy warm days of summer. I'm talking about a gal who loves winter to. Winter is my favorite season. Snow blizzards and all. But for some reason, I'm finding it to hard to get into the fall festivity mode and theres only days left of September. Reluctantly I got up all of my autumn decorations around my home. I even changed my blog over to autumn. Wanting to let go of summer or not, unfortunately it's officially over until 2010. It's like the shrubs outside don't want to let go of summer either.....

Oh I just couldn't resist clipping and bringing in the last of my flowery bounty from my yard.......

They look kind of funny sitting on my autumn tablecloth. But this is it, until next summer..........................

  1. Your flowers are beautiful!
And I'm so surprised to hear you say you don't want Summer to be over! Your blog is so Fall festive and has been for a little while now!
Which reminds me, I tried to comment on your mad tea party post and couldn't get the comment box to come up! I've been having so much trouble with Blogger lately sometimes!
Anyway, that was a fun post, and your food all looked delicious, and I enjoyed the excerpt from the story too!

I usually love Summer too, but this year it was so nasty and rainy that I was happy to kiss it good-bye! Fall so far has been pretty nice, perfect sunny, crisp days, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this lasts well into December!

    Take care.
    All the best,
    Eileen

  2. Anne, I have long awaited fall and the change of the seasons... The weather here in Ohio during the fall reminds me of New Mexico, where I grew up. The bright, sunny days, the crisp evenings, the scent of wood burning in the fireplace... I can see your reluctance if you have gardens and enjoy spending your time there. Your winter season will be here before you know it. Enjoy nice weather while you can! I am busy decorating for Rhoda's party the first of Oct. That is how much I love the fall! tee hee

  4. Hey Anne!
Ohhh, Your fall blog looks so pretty! I love what you did with it! I know it's hard to say goodbye to the pretty flowers of summer...I feel that way too. Back in Aug. when eveyone was posting fall posts already...I thought "no", I am not saying good bye to my summer just yet! LOL! Besides it was 90 something then! LOL! We were 90 last week too. Well, now that it's almost Oct. I'm so worn out with the heat of summer. I'm ready to let it go. I was so happy this morning It was 70 and the high is 85 degrees and not as humid. Maybe fall is really beginning to come in my neck of the woods....I'm hoping! We ususally start cooling down nicely around end of October. It will be a nice change. Enjoy those summer blooms...they look so pretty on your table. Have a great week sweetie!

  5. Oh darling I don't want to say goodbye either. Where did summer go? I am not an autumn and winter person more spring and summer. I don't do well with orange, yellow, red and green...my favourites are blue, pink, and white colours. But you do autumn well, I love the dress your blog is wearing very festive darling.

  9. Wow, Anne, you're blog is fantastic dressed in its' fall decor! Enjoyed your last blooms...you're hibiscus is simply gorgeous! I'm with you, I'm really missing summer already this year. Usually when fall rolls around, I'm ready for it, after the sweltering heat and humidity of July and August. This year our temps. were lower and not many humid days...perfect for my liking. It seems you're into the swing of fall...enjoy!

    P.S....I got a kick out of your...I'm Mad!...post!

  11. Oh I know what you mean, Anne! I used to love the winter months, the snuggling under warm blankets and the comfort food. But, now that we do homeschool, we get a bit of cabin fever and can't wait to get to gym when my husband gets home - just so that we can get out the house. Now that it is spring, it is wonderful to have the windows and doors open and for the girls to run outside at tea break. They just can't wait to swim at break time! Hmmm, think I'm changing my mind about winter (that's just until the heat sets in, ha ha ha)
