As I was browsing along, I seen this little end table. Not much wrong with it at all. Just some old varnish that needed to be sanded and redone. Nothing my hubby couldn't do. After all, he did redo the top of my vintage desk I got last spring.......in the pouring rain! Hey when you want something, weather does not matter, lol!
So what do you think? Do you think my husband did a good job or what?
My dear husband, sanded it, stained it, and put a satin finish on it. I preferred not to high gloss this one but now I don't know if I like the satin finish either. I'll have to keep that in mind for my hubby's next projects in the future. But don't you just love the ornate legs of the end table. So pretty I think. I can tell that my taste is moving more into traditional looking furniture. If it looks like something coming from grannies house, than I like it, lol.
And the best part of it all was the price I paid for this little gem. Your not going to believe it............$8.99. It was almost the same price the glass pitcher.
Also just real quick, my husband and I do a lot of entertaining. So when I seen this cheese holder, I grabbed it. This was $6.99. I wasn't real happy with the price either but, I know that we will use it a lot. Cheese is suppose to be served at room temperature. Now that I have a cover, the cheese won't look all dried out and unappetizing. In fact, I could probably use another one.
I washed this in the dishwasher. I would advise you not to. I would hand wash it very well with warm soapy water. After it is air dried, apply mineral oil to the teak wood. It will do wonders for the wood. Your not suppose to use vegetable oil or olive oil because it could go rancid with time. This holds true to all of your cutting boards as well. =)
Well that was my thrifty goodies! I hope you enjoyed my post. And please stop back by for a visit and leave a comment. I would love to hear from all of you. And that way, I'll be able to leave a comment on your blog as well. If you haven't yet added yourself to my list of followers, I would be delighted if you would. Have a great day!
