Out With The Old, In With The New

I'm so upset that both of my Hallmark's in my area have closed. Saturday I needed to get a couple of birthday cards so I ran up to my CVS. Don't know if you have those in your neck of the woods but it's a drugstore. So I'm looking around and the I spotted this colorful dusting mitt. It was only two bucks so I thought, why not get it and give it a try. And plus it was Saturday, one of my dusting days.
I usually go around with a feather duster first and then polish up the furniture.
I came home and tried this dusting mitt and I just absolutely love it. For one, dust isn't going all over the place like it does with the feather duster. When I used the dusting mitt, your hand contours over all of the objects no matter the shape or size. So your just going along, dusting away. It was fun and it worked great for a two dollar item. It didn't say if you could wash it or not but I don't see why you couldn't. On the other side of the dusting mitt it doesn't have those fluffies, so you can use that side for your polish if you want. I now want to go up and get another neon dusting mitt for when this one wears out.
I even spent a lot of money on this ostrich feather duster, $15. But I have to say, out with the old and in with the new. This little duster mitt works great. I also have to say that I was having fun dusting because it was something different. As I continue dusting around the house, I'll just open up the glass door and give it a few shakes with it still on my hand to get the dust off.
I also seen the concept on t.v. of dish washing rubber gloves with the sponge attached to the palms. So you would just swipe your counters with it. It was neat to watch the person using them for washing dishes because they weren't holding a sponge because the sponge was already attached to the gloves. But that hasn't reached the U.S. yet, but I'll be looking for those babies for sure! I'd love to hear about your dusting tips if you have any. Or what do you do to make dusting fun? I'd love to hear you comments. I took a picture of my new duster for you to see. Have a nice day!

I save all my husbands old socks and slip them on my hands to dust and when I use one to wax or oil the furnature then I just toss it in the trash.. but I bet your duster works better because it probably has something in it to attract the dust.

  3. How cute ! As for my duster, it is the Swiffer Duster. I truly love it. Especially for my ceiling fans.
Now I do have CVS around here. As a matter of fact we have 4 in my town! LOL Guess I will be heading out to them to find a duster like yours to try out!
Also, so sorry about your Hallmarks closing down. I truly do love shopping in them.

That is really cute. I just have to get out more. I have never seen that in any of my regular stores.
