Knick Knack Fever

I cannot be the only woman out here in blog ville that likes, I mean loves knick knacks. Hello to all my fellow bloggers. I mean what kind of woman does not like to add some knick knacks to her home to make it warm and inviting right? I was visiting my daughters blog and she gave me an idea for this post. She said that she went to a interior decor party the other evening. I have never been to one. Have any of you? She said that you can buy, what else, knick knacks! Lots and lots of knick knacks! Oh my gosh, if I ever went to one of those I would be like a kid in a candy store!
My dear hubby does not understand why I feel the need to fill my home or spend my money on knick knacks. Come on ladies, stick up for me here. It's all in fun though. He teases me. He says that knick knacks is a waste of money! Can you believe that ladies?! Knick knacks are a waste of money? Knick knack are great to have for your home! They add charm to a little windowsill or a little end table. You think our hubbies would understand our need to make our homes look lovely. You'd think men would appreciate all the hard work us woman have to go through to have nice knick knacks. All the stores that we have to run to to find that perfect floral arrangement or whatever. It's hard work! How do they think that cute little ghost that's staring at them from their nightstand at 5am got there? You know he likes the cute little knick knack. He just won't admit it.
My husband came home from work the other day and was taking pictures of my mantel with his camera on his cell phone. Of course I asked him what in the heck he was doing. My dear husband looked at me and said, "Oh I'm just sending this to a guy at work who is thinking about getting married. I told him that his future wife will be doing the same thing." Meaning filling up his house with knick knacks. I just said, "Whatever."

So we made the extra bedroom into our office. Are you following me ladies. When we were all done with painting and putting the furniture back into the room I was so excited! Not just because the room was done but...(you know where I'm going with this ladies?). I was looking around and my mind was racing. I thought, "Oh my gosh! This is wonderful! I have a brand new room I can fill with knick knacks!" I'm I right ladies or what? I was just so excited. Off I went...looking for the perfect knick knacks for my new office. My hubby was saying something, I don't know. I was out the door.

Here are some of my knick knacks! Take a picture of some of your knick knacks and leave me a comment and I would love to see them. Signing off... from Peek-A-Boo Street!

Hmmm I'd have to dust before I could take any pictures of mine :) but I am planning on taking a picture of a tea pot I have that's neat.
You're right.. all that 'junk' as my hub calls them is what makes a home comfortable and inviting.

I thought I'd answer your squash question here so you wouldn't miss it, all the squash you named are winter squash but I'd never use the spaghetti one for the bread. It would probably work too if you ran it through the blender first. Summer squash are things like zucchini.. their have too much moisture in them for the bread.
    Hope this was helful.
    Have a good day

  4. I see someone's ready for Halloween! Nice to see your knick- knacks...I'll have to think about my knick knacks...I was going to do a post with a few photos of unique areas we built into our cabin...maybe within the next month. One that I love is a mousehole built into the fireplace...lighted...with a mouse family. MMM????..now you've got me thinking.

  6. Peek-A-Boo Street, oh how I do love all of your knick knacks! You truly have quite the collection! Plus you have given me an idea for a blog to do! Thank ya.

As to the party your daughter went to. Well I am quite familiar with "Home Interiors." They do have all kinds of things to fill up your home with. Plus some wonderful smelling candles! I know my mother-in-law sure does have a vast collection of their "Denim Days' figurines. And I have been the one to keep her supplied with them. LOL
Oh well, I must go. Take care my new found friend. Enjoy the ret of your weekend. And keep blogging away... :0)
