Dessert @ Granny's

There are some more smiling faces over here again on Peek-A-Boo Street this evening. The grandchildren are just lovin' these cool summer treats. I think that the best desserts are the most simplest of desserts. I'll even go further and say that they look the most appealing too. Simple is good. It reminds me of my childhood. All you need is Jell-O, and Cool Whip....

And this Granny is smiling cause I got to use two sets of thrift find dishes this weekend. I've been wanting to use them. I got to use those ice cream float glasses last night and these dessert bowls tonight. =)

Family Roots

The Grands are over for the weekend and treated them to an old fashion treat tonight...

Root beer floats. They were all smiles after they finished these. I just love seeing them smile. =)

My Whitie Tidies~

Whew, OK, I think my heart rate is back to normal. I've been wanting to show off my whitie tidies for some time now but I display them in my glass curio cabinet which has mirrors in the background so taking any photos would be difficult. Glares, me in the background, etc. The photos wouldn't have turned out very well.
When I seen my blogger friend Donna show off her milk glass, I just had to show off mine. So I took them out of the cabinet one by one trying not to nick them on the glass so the pieces wouldn't chip. I think I stopped breathing at some point. And if you seen my curio cabinet you would see how small the darn thing is and I had a difficult time getting them out and wondering how in the heck I got these whitie tidies in there! But I got them out, quickly took some photos and the whitie tidies are safely back inside the cabinet and I'm not hyperventilating anymore. Sigh. Breath Anne breath.
I hope you enjoy my small collection...

This little girl is a bell, but I think she is sweet as pie...

I know a few bloggers who collect brides and grooms, so when I seen this cute little happy couple, I just had to take 'em home. Just look at their eyes. So adorable...

Cute little shoe...

A Top Hat dish with a daisy and button pattern...

I bought this white beauty at a thrift store for $10.....

When I stopped at a red light I picked it up admiring it and turned it over and guess what it said?.......

It's hard to see in the photo but inside that circle it says Fenton!!!!!!! I'm sure the people next to me at the stop light were wondering why this crazy lady was screaming. =)

Some more of my flower box collection....

I hope you enjoyed my whitie tidie collection. Thank you for visiting. =)

Good Morning Sunshine ☼

It's top the morning here on Peek-A-Boo Street and I just had to show you my latest thrift find. I found this breakfast tray for $5. It was not it the greatest shape. But for five bucks, I knew it still had a little life left to it.

So after the thrift store, I stopped into my local hardware store and picked up a couple cans of spray paint. And now look what I have. A cute little breakfast tray.

I just love it. The paint cost about $9. Plus five for the tray. So for $14 I got a cute breakfast tray.
P.S. I usually don't use that much butter on my toast. It was just for the photo. Happy Saturday!

* Christmas In July *

It's Christmas in July here on Peek-A-Boo Street. I found a few Christmas thrift finds that I wanted to share with you. I wasn't posting last Christmas so I'd thought I'd share my Christmas tree with you from last year.
I was so happy when I found these vintage ornaments. I can't wait to put them on my tree this year...

A ceramic dish I will be using this year to set out some Christmas cookies...

A Spode plate, 'Winter's Eve.' Bummer I only found one. I will be on the look out for another...

A pic of last year's Christmas tree...

Some of my ornaments. I don't know about you ladies, but when it comes to my ornaments NO one touches them but myself. The fam knows if they touch them, someone is getting hurt, lol. Also you will spot out some threaded popcorn on the boughs that I did last year. I don't do this every year for obvious reasons. Time consuming but a nice added touch...

You might have seen this pic of me last Christmas as I did pop in last Christmas to post this pic of me to wish you a Merry Christmas. After three years of blogging, I thought my blogger friends might be wondering what I looked like, lol. See that village behind me? More on that in my next post.

With that,
Merry Christmas in July!

All Aglow

Hello! Even though we're into the evening hours here on Peek-A-Boo Street, we are not cooling down at all. If anything, it's getting warmer. My air conditioner doesn't even feel like it's working. We have our service set up where the billing company interrupts our air at intervals on really hot days like this. It's suppose to save money but it's making the house heat up so much. It's also suppose to prevent black outs when everyone has their air cranked up at the same time.
Anyway, I've seen some bloggers with little lamps on their kitchen counters and I just liked that idea. It adds that extra warmth to their kitchen. So I have been keeping an eye out for one at the thrift stores. I wanted one with a colored lamp shade to add some color to my kitchen. I finally came across something I liked but it did not have any color. The shade and the base is made of glass. But when I seen this pretty little thing for $7.99, color didn't seem to matter all that much any more. This one will do until I can find another one with a splash of color.
But doesn't is look nice? It does give the kitchen a little glow of warmth. It will be nice during the fall and the winter holidays and not so much on hot July nights!

I'm going to try and find a new finial for it though. I got the cord hiding behind the coffee pot.

This basket holding two of my hen in a nest dishes were all thrift finds. See the green one up on top? That's why I'm linking this post up to Fiona's @ Raindrops and Daisies for Green Day #3. This will be my second time joining so I hope I do it correctly.

Now with all of this warmth and aglow talk, I'm outta here. It's getting hot in here and I need to go jump into the pool. Like now.

Thank You Jessica!

My daughter had stopped over the other day and bought me a gift. She had bought me this ivory tea pot along with this beautiful tray.

You can see the shape of the teapot better in this second photo.

I love teapots and trays. Then I got to thinking and told my daughter I know exactly where I'm going to use these goodies...

On my new garden tea cart! I found this at a second hand store and practically was drooling over it. I got if for $40. My hubby thinks it was over priced but I don't. I've done enough thrift shopping to know that this is a once in a life time find for me. I thought it was worth the price and trust me, I stretch a buck around here as much as possible. The top is glass and the bottom had obviously gotten broken because it is plexy glass. But it doesn't bother me.
Anyway, you will be seeing more of this on days that I'm out having tea time. I can't wait to set it all up. Isn't it wonderful being a girl!
Thank you Jessica. I know, I'll have my daughter over soon for tea.

It's Got My Name On It

Don't you just love when you walk into a second hand store and you see something you know was meant just for you to have? I love it when that happens. Kind of like being in the right spot at the right time. Here are a couple of finds that had my name written all over them...
I am in LOVE with old vintage nick knacks. Especially ones of little girls. I wish I could find more. I had stopped by this one thrift store for the second time, and on my way out, literally right by the exit, my eye caught this cute vintage April angel for $4.99. My birth month is April and this angel was meant for me.

I love this kind of trimming on vintage nick knacks, as seen here in the photo with the trimming on her dress.

Love the basket shes holding with a bunny and egg. Also love the craze on the whole nick knack.
That mark on her cheek is a fleck of the gold paint. Not sure if it was meant to be there or not like a beauty mark.

Some time ago, I found this tea cup and I instantly fell in love with it.

I have always wanted a tall footed tea cup such as this one.
I have always wanted a teacup with a saucer with holes along the edges like this one. It looks like hearts. The teacup also has that pearly iridescence to it that I love.

Then when I turned it over and it read,  'Sweet Pea' April's flower, I said, "Yep, it's mine!"

These pieces absolutely had my name on them and I was taking them home with me!
