A while back ago, a long while back ago, my Mom/Carol over at http://charliandme.blogspot.com/ received an award with a meme attached to it. She said that she was offering this award to everyone instead of choosing only six of her blogging friends.
Thanks Mom for this award!

And Mom, please forgive me for picking this award up so late! My mom posted this up on her blog oh..........maybe six weeks ago. =) I know, I know. I really have not been a very good blogger lately. But with good reason. I've been reading, reading and reading. And reading some more.

Still Reading......

Yep, I've still been doing alot of reading. I found a new reading genre that I like and that is literature. I just love literature and I can't seem to get enough of it. And the stories are really good. I was surprised that literature would be something that I would like and truly enjoy reading. See, I'm broadening my horizons. Here are some of the books that I have read lately.

Sleepy Hollow is a short story. I liked it for the fact that I could say, I read it.

Alice Adventures In Wonderland I read with my young son. Again, I'm glad that I can say, I read it.

Ethan Frome I just loved! I read this in a matter of days! Some parts I did not like but the story on a whole was great!

Summer was the best love story I think I ever read in my life. Again, there were parts in the story that I did not like but the feelings that Edith Wharton makes the readers actually feel is why I think I fell in love with this story. You could actually feel the love in the story. I read it in about a weeks time.

And this next one Frankenstein. Oh what a story. I liked it. The man that created the monster was named Frankenstein. I had always thought the monster was Frankenstein. Maybe you all knew that and I was just out to lunch or something. My husband is now thinking about reading it. I hope he does! I'm gently coaxing him. =) But anyway, I would recommend that everyone read this tale of a story despite my review on this book. I liked the book but I didn't like how this guy was in such despair and peril all of the time. And you kept wondering for pretty much to the end of the book when this author was going to cut this guy and us readers a break! This poor fella and what he went through! Geez. But none the less. It was such a good read, I could hardly put the darn book down!

My son and I are still reading Peter Pan. We're more than half through on that one. It's starting to get better as we go. I think I liked Adventures of Alice In Wonderland better.

And now I'm half way through with 'To Kill A Mocking Bird.'

This book was really slow going. My daughter says that she really liked it and that it does get better. I'm sure that I will be finishing it this week because there are so many more books that I have my eye on!
Moby Dick.....Dracula........The Catcher and the Rye......One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest. And trust me, the list goes on and on. I'm still reading Edgar Allan Poe. I tapped into some philosophy.....Aesop's Fables. Love, love, love them!

Also Grimm's complete fairy tales.
Did you know that Snow White came from the Grimm brother's fairy tales? I did not know this. I had always thought Disney made up Snow White. Also from the Grimm fairy tales comes The Sleeping Beauty, Rumpelstiltskin, Hansel and Gretel and so much more. I haven't started this big huge book yet but I can't wait. I'm getting excited just thinking about it! Some of those stories I can read to my son.
So that is what I have been up to lately. I have been up to my nose in books! So bring on the snow storms. But not bad enough were I can't drive up to the bookstore.
