This is the Way We Dry Our Clothes

Ok so the past couple of years now I have been wanting a clothesline to dry my clothes outside. So this past weekend, my husband went and bought me one up at Lowe's. It wasn't the one I wanted but I think this one will do. He got me one of those umbrella kind. It was a surprise for me. So what could I do. How could I complain. Although he did say, if I use it (lol), he'll get me the other one. But like I said, I think this one is going to do the trick.
So of course what came to mind? New, clean, crisp, sun dried sheets hung out to dry with a warm spring breeze. So off to Target I went to pick up some new sheets for my bed.
While I'm waiting for this video to load up, I'm going to brew me some hot tea and then hopefully by then, the video will be loaded up!

Ok, I'm back! Did you here the spring breeze? Wasn't it lovely. Actually it was a bit to windy. But boy, you can bet, that I got a good night sleep that night on my new sheets that were soaked up with the spring breeze and sunshine! It made my bedroom smell so lovely. ZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzz.......
You also might have heard a little bit of music playing in the background on the video. That would be my new music selection that I've been adding to my music player on my blog. I will turn up the volume, open up the windows to let the spring air come through the house and start my housework. What a perfect day it was to. I love being a housewife. Ok well I to have my bad days but I do mostly love being at home and taking care of my family and the household. Someones got to hold down the fort. =) But anyway, I hope you all are enjoying my music. I have some music from the 30's, 40's, 50's, 60's, 70's and some newer songs I like.
I hope you all are having a lovely spring week!

Hey Alice, What's the Scoop?

Alice In Wonderland that is.
I'm still reading.......

I'm just loving this book. Here I thought I was going to read about tea and this book has really broadened my horizons in so many other directions.
Of course, Alice In Wonderland came up in the book.

I hate to admit it, but I'm forty and I don't really know to much about the tale. I know, I know, I can here you all the way over here on Peek-A-Boo Street. And I never did see the animated 1951 Walt Disney movie either. I would like to. Hey laugh all you want, it's never to late! =)
So I went to my little handy-dandy world wide web to find out the scoop on little Alice and here is what I found. I thought it pretty interesting.
Charles Lutwidge Dodgson was traveling by boat with three little girls...Lorina, Alice and Edith. He was bringing the girls to there father who was, Henry George Liddell. He was Vice-Chancellor of Oxford University and Dean of Christ Church in Oxford, England.
On the way, the girls asked to be told a story. And Charles obliged in entertaining them with a tale about a girl named Alice who was going on an adventure. The girls liked it so much, they asked Charles Lutwidge Dodgson to write it down for them.
Apparently, most of the book adventures were based on people, situations and buildings in Oxford, England. The "Rabbit Hole" actually came from some stairs from inside Christ's Church located down the hall.
So the book was written in 1865. It is about Alice who falls down a Rabbit Hole into a fantasy world with peculiar creatures.
The tale is liked by children and adults. The first entire print sold out and is still in print today! Among the first readers of this book was....you guessed it.....Queen Victoria!! I found that pretty interesting. Also the young Oscar Wilde. Oscar Wilde has now totally peaked my curiosity! His name is also in this tea book I'm reading.
You can get the whole synopsis here. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alice
This is where I accumulated all of this great information from. And it's loaded with all kinds of info on Alice In Wonderland. I would also like to find this book and read it.
Now I feel like I know the scoop a little better on Alice In Wonderland. The book though is actually called, Alice Adventures in Wonderland. Whereas the movie from Disney is Alice in Wonderland.
I hope you all enjoyed my post! I hope you have a great cup of tea on this fine beautiful spring day!

Earth Day

Today is Earth Day. So these two childhood commercials came to mind. Some of you might not remember them. There from the 70's but the message is still true to this day.

Woodsy Owl......

And Smokey the Bear........

We all can find ways to help our planet!

Miserere Psalm

So I'm continually going on with the book I'm reading, The Charms of Tea. When once again, something caught my attention.

There was a little quote inside by Sir Kenelm Digby from 'The Closet Opened. Who or what is that, I have no idea. Here is his quote about tea....

"The hot water is to remain upon the tea no longer than whiles you can say the Miserere Psalm very leisurely."

Well of course I was wondering what the Miserere Psalm is and I did happen to find it on the world wide web. Here is how it goes.

Psalm 51-The Miserere:Prayer of Repentance (kind of long, sorry)

Have mercy on me, God inour goodness
in your abundant compassion
blot out my offense.
Wash away all my quilt;
from my sin cleanse me.

For I know my offense;
my sin is always before me.
Against you alone have I sinned;
I have done such evil in your sight
That you are just in your sentence,
blameless when you condemn.
True, I was born guilty,
a sinner, even as my mother conceived me.
Still, you insist on sincerity of heart;
in my inmost being teach me wisdom.

Cleanse me with hyssop, that I may be pure;
wash me, make me whiter than snow.
Let me hear sounds of joy and gladness;
let the bones you have crushed rejoice.
Turn away your face from my sins;
blot out all my guilt.

A clean heart create for me, God;
renew in me a steadfast spirit.
Do not drive me from your presence,
nor take from me your holy spirit.
Restore my joy in your salvation;
sustain in me a willing spirit.

I will teach the wicked your ways,
that sinners may return to you.
Rescue me from death, God, my saving God,
that my tongue may praise your healing power.
Lord, open my lips;
my mouth will proclaim your praise.
For you do not desire sacrifice;
a burnt offering you would not accept.
My sacrifice, God, is a broken spirit;
God, do not spurn a broken, humbled heart.

Psalm 51:3-19

Apparently it's used in the Catholic church and I didn't even know that.
A famous story about this song is that Mozart at the age of 14 heard this song once and then went back to his room to write it down. He then went back to hear it again two days after to fix only a couple of errors! You got to love Mozart! And I do love Mozart.
Now the next time we are brewing our tea, we can all recite this psalm leisurely, and then our tea will be done! Oh and Maybe put on a little Mozart.

Charles Dickens

Charles Dickens has peeked my curiosity. A few weeks ago, I watched a 1938 movie by Charles Dickens......The Christmas Carol. I think that this is the best movie I've ever seen! I absolutely loved it and I will continue to watch it with my other favorite movies at Christmas time. I couldn't find a movie clip to add to my post, sorry. I really wanted one for that movie.
I've started reading a tea book, The Charms of Tea. Don't you just love that tea pot on the cover of this book?

Oh but anyway, inside this book it had a quote from Charles Dickens or it mentioned him or something. So I looked him up on the computer and sure enough, he lived in the Victorian Era. Also was the time that he wrote many of his books. The Christmas Carol he was not a book he was intending to write by the way. That was a book to help him and his wife out financially. They had 10 children!
While looking up Charles Dickens on the world wide web, I also connected up with Queen Victoria.
Also there is another book written by Claire Tomalin called The Invisible Woman. This was supposedly Charlie Dickens mistress on the side whom they secretly lived together during the last 13 years of his life. That part made my cringe a little, being I'm married. Sorry Mr. Charlie but that part doesn't fly well with me but none the less, the story sounds juicy and scandalous. Has anyone read that story by the way?
Also while doing some research on the world wide web, I confirmed that the Christmas Carol took place in Victorian London, in year was 1801. The Spirit of Christmas Present said that it had 1800 brother's because he lives for only one year. I thought that was an interesting tid bit.
Here is the original preface of the book.

Charles Dickens was working in some shoe factory where the middle class weren't being payed very well and his mother told him that he had to keep working there when the family inherited money. Charles Dickens father was able to get out of prison with the money that the family inherited. John Dickens went to prison for reasons of debt. But Charles Dickens held resentment to his mother for a life time. Here is a quote I seen by Charles Dickens.
" I had no advice, no counsel, no encouragement, no consolation, no assistance, no support, of any kind, from anyone, that I can call to mind, as I hope to go to heaven."
Charles Dickens...you gotta love him.....unless I come to find out he's a devil worshiper or something, lol.

Spring Break

Hello everybody. I hope you all had a wonderful Easter. I know we did.
My mother-in-law was hosting the family's Easter dinner this year and boy, did she ever do a fabulous job. She went all out. Not only did she host the dinner but she threw me a little surprise birthday party to boot!

My 40th birthday fell on Easter this year.
I was just sort of breezing through Easter this year because I'm in the middle of planning for my sons First Holy Communion and reception for next month. I'm looking at every detail of the whole thing. Every piece of thread on his clothes, decorations for the house, the menu....and the list goes on.
So, I was very much appreciative when my Mom decided to do Easter this year. And to my surprise! She threw in a surprise party for me! She asked if I knew anything about it and I truly did not. I was very surprised! I'm speaking about my father-in-law to.....but he doesn't blog, lol! Men......they don't know what there missing! But anyway, thank you Mom & Dad for the lovely Easter dinner and the SURPRISE party! We had such a fantastic time. My Mom had so much planned for the party. I couldn't begin to tell you everything in just a post. But it truly was a lovely time.
Also.....in the mix of all of these festivities.......my second grandson will be here also in May. He is due the week after my son makes his First Holy Communion! Wow, what an exciting spring this has been for myself and my family. We are so blessed!
The following month, June, the kids will be getting out of school! Yippee! I'm just going to crash. I'm going to be so tired with all of these exciting events taking place. Then we'll be going to a baptism.........One day at a time.
I found a couple more onsies for my grandson for when he is born. I thought they were cute so I just had to show my bloggy friends. =)

The kid's are on their spring break this week. So that means I've been on my break to! Lol. My grandson is staying with us for a few days. I hope you all are having a nice week. The beginning of the week was crumby weather. But now we're in the high 60's with total sunshine. Tomorrow we're suppose to hit 70 degrees, yay!

How Much Is That Doggy In The Window ♪

The last few times that I was up at the Antique Mall, I've seen this most adorable oil painting with the cutest puppy on it. And every time that I walked by, it was like the little puppy was crying for me to take him home. So............how could I resist? He was coming home with me! He cost me $38. I knew that he would be hung on the wall of my home office. The picture is an original painting. There is no other painting like it. On the back it says so and also has a authenticity label that says that the oil painting cannot be reproduced. So I think it's one of a kind. I do not think that it's valuable or anything. Because if so, it wouldn't be running through my fingers.

But I just love it. It was painted in 1984 so it's not to old. the frame is nicked and scratched but that doesn't bother me in the slightest. I fell in love with it because it kind of reminded me of my dog how she's all fluffy like that. But the painting also has a childlike feel to it, to me anyway. All children love puppies. And this puppy looks like it's in need for a friend. Look how he's looking at the butterfly. It's like he's saying, "Oh maybe he'll want to be my friend." I just completely fell in love with it and it just melted my heart. It just made my ♥ feel all warm and fuzzy inside, lol.

Here is a picture of it. You can click on it to enlarge.

I did a little rearranging in my home office.

I've been wanting to post this for awhile but my poor hubby got sick again. I had to wait for him to hang it on the wall. His poor immune system is down. I told him he needs some vitamins. He's working out again so hopefully that will improve his immune system. I was joking and told him that I'm going to have to get him some vitamins or something. I told him to go stand in the sun or something, poor fella.
I hope everyone is having a nice week.

Mel Gibson's, 2004 The Passion of Christ

Have any of you seen Mel Gibson's 2004, 'The Passion of Christ'?

If you haven't seen the movie yet and always wanted to, this is a good week to watch it. I've seen it when it came out in theatres. I loved it and watched it a few times now. What was so eerie in this movie was how Satan, the devil lurked around Jesus during the movie. Satan spoke to Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane and said, "You can't do this all on your own." It was in the way the cameras were moving Satan around Jesus. In like a stalking, lurking, like way. So eerie. But true. It kind of gets me giddy inside because we all know the end to that story! Please check it out right here on YouTube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RYKUIOvBhNk

It really doesn't matter what religion you are, or are even religious for that matter. It's worth it for all to see.

When browsing on the Internet, I came across a written interview with , who played Christ in the movie. I thought it was pretty interesting so I linked up to it here if you'd care to check it out. http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.beliefnet.com/imgs/tout/cavi.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.beliefnet.com/Entertainment/Movies/2004/02/The-Movie-Was-Torture-But-Worth-It.aspx&usg=__tBiEgtIDYQ6lpKAfTWm5uVDiwNo=&h=132&w=150&sz=9&hl=en&start=389&um=1&tbnid=6Qkr6EhpZoTtDM:&tbnh=84&tbnw=96&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dchrist%2527s%2Bscourging%26ndsp%3D20%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DN%26start%3D380%26um%3D1

I've also came across the movies original web page if you want to click here. http://www.thepassionofthechrist.com/splash.htm

I'd love to hear all of your comments.

Good Morning

Good Morning fellow bloggers. I hope that you all had a wonderful week. I missed you all but haven't had much to say during this past week. I'm sure you all didn't want to hear about me doing some spring cleaning...like that little rabbit said on my sidebar. Just who does that little critter think he is? And when in the heck did he get over here on Peek-A-Boo Street? Huh, telling me that I have dust bunnies around here and calling out to me, "You whoooo Lady!" Huh, just who in the heck does he think he's talking to? He's cute and all but he is causing me some strife. I wish he land his furry cotton tail over on someone elses blog. If anyone would like to have him on their blog, by all means please invite him over. Hopefully he'll scoot and skedaddle out of here. I didn't even invite him! He just popped up one day. Hmmm that rabbit!
Anyway fellow blogger's. I won't give him to much of my attention. I have been wanting to show you these Easter bunny mugs that I got last year. I wasn't blogging last year at this time so now I get the chance to show you all. Aren't they cute. I have my coffee in them every morning. They just make me smile in the morning. How can you not start your day off good while sipping on your hot coffee in one of these cute mugs. I just love them so much. I even keep them out for a little past Easter because their so darn cute. Because bunnies are a sign of spring time. I do that with all of my Easter decorations. They stay out a little past Easter because they just look so springy. Where Christmas is different. When it's over, it's over. The next day I'm packing everything up!

These cute mugs are pretty big. They will hold a nice amount of coffee for you.
Well today is Palm Sunday. It will be Easter in one week. This is the beginning of Holy Week. This is the holiest week of the year. Holy Thursday the Catholic church remembers the Last Supper. And it is a day of obligation to go to Mass. Then it is Good Friday. That's the day Jesus hung on the cross for three hours from noon to three p.m. I'm not sure if that is a day of obligation to go to Mass but I do. Easter Morning is the peek of the Catholics liturgical year. It's even more important then Christmas. Easter Morning is when we hear the words Alleluia for the first time in 60 days in the church. All the statues, pictures and crucifixes will be uncovered and then there will be a huge ray of flowers flowing around the alter. The songs will be more happier and everyone is so happy as we all celebrate Christ's Resurrection and victory from His death on the cross.
I do a lot of praying and I know it probably sounds silly but I do keep all of you in my prayers. I'll ask the Lord to watch over all my bloggy friends and for certain needs that you may have like health issues or whatever.
I hope that you all have a very blessed Holy Week. Take care my bloggy friends.
