27 Dresses-Movie Review
My family watched this movie (27 Dresses) tonight and I loved it! It was definitely a chick flick but it was really good. It was really funny to. I liked it a lot better than P.S. I Love You.
P.S. I Love You-Movie Review
My family watched this movie (P.S. I Love You) last evening. We wanted to watch it because it has Hillary Swank in it and the last couple of movie's we watched with her, she was really good. It had Kathy Bates in it and I just love her. Well this movie wasn't so good. They had Hillary Swank playing this little cutesy funny woman that wasn't cutesy anymore. Her voice got very annoying by the time you even get to the middle of the movie. It was to sad of a movie. It had an Irish flare to it though and some scenes from Ireland. The end of the movie was really good but the the movie was not.
Read Your Food Labels!
The other night I tried to make home made Hani's like at Coney Island. I just love those with their cheese fries. Well I usually do watch what I eat so I wanted to make the Hani's at home because I thought that it would be more healthy. Wrong! My husband has told me to watch my fat grams on the food labels if I wanted to lose weight but I never wanted to bother with reading labels. Who has the time for that. Well I started to read labels and I have successfully lost a few pounds. But this one time I didn't and now I wish I had, only to find out the next day, how many fat grams was in the pita bread and cheese. When I have a sandwich for lunch which I usually do, the total fat grams in the bread that I use is 2. Well I looked at the pita bread the next day, thinking it was healthy....it had 25 grams of fat! Yikes!
For my sandwiches I use 2% Kraft cheese which is only 2.5 grams in a slice. But I used deli cheese for the Hani's. Again I seen this the next day, a little to late. A slice of Swiss was 8 grams and the American slice was 9 grams of fat. So anyway it does pay to look at your food labels before you consume it or even buy it. Today I had a Lean Cuisine for lunch and the total in that was 3 grams of fat. Much better. But I really thought that making the Hani's at home would be more healthy but it wasn't.

"12"
It's been 12 years since my husband and I quit smoking. My doctor once told me that it takes up to 15 years, not 10 like previously thought of, for your lungs to go back to the way they were before I started smoking. So I guess I'm still on my way but I know that I will never ever smoke again. Hopefully the bloggers who read my blog aren't smoking either. Like that commercial says, "Don't quit quitting!" Take care... From...Peek-A-Boo Street!

"13"
Well the unlucky #13 is not so unlucky. My kids are going back to school in 13 days and yes the momma is counting down. Actually I don't mind the kids being home. My teenager doesn't want to go back and my little 2nd grader has been bored since July. Sometimes he follows me around the house. He's ready to go back to school and he is looking forward to it. I'll have to remind him of that when he becomes a teenager. Yep we're counting down the days over here...13... :-)

911
Has anyone had the experience of continuing to see the numbers 911 since what had happened to our country on Sept. 11, 2001? I do and I have heard that it has occurred to others as well. It doesn't happen to me as often as it has in the past. Between the years of 2005 to 2006 is when it occurred the most and I'm speaking almost on a daily basis! I would walk into another room to speak to my husband, look up, and the clock would read...
It still happens when I look at a clock sometimes. A clock is where I would mostly see 911.
If I needed help with crocheting I would go on the Internet and come across a web page that said something like 'Crocheting & Knitting 911.'
http://www.knit911.com/home.html
One time I had stopped behind a car and their licence plate would have 911 on it. One time (family was with me, otherwise no one would believe me), we were driving down the road and I said to my family to look at the car ahead....it not only 911 on it.... it had my son's name on the plate as well!!! No kidding!!! Thank goodness my family was there because they would have never of believed me!
One time my husband and I went out to eat early and the restaurant wasn't open yet so we decided to drive around for awhile. This is what I saw (went back and got picture for today's post though)....
Yeah...weird. And thank gosh my husband was with me at the time I seen this. Because no one would have believed it!! We were making a U turn and I happened to look straight ahead and I was like, "Oh my gosh!! Look! Look!"
I know that the picture of the bible page I have posted is hard to see but if you click on the picture it should show up larger to help you see it better. This bible, American Bible was given to me from my parish when I was going through the R.C.I.A. to become a Catholic in the spring of 1999. When I kept seeing the numbers 911 all the time I was like okay what is God trying to tell me here. Obviously I thought, I'm just not getting it. This number 911 was showing up everywhere in my life. Well of course I was thinking that something bad was going to happen to me or my family. Then I thought maybe it's in a bible verse. I opened my bible to some of my favorite books inside the bible. I looked in to the Proverbs chapter 9, verse 11. Are you ready for this? Chapter 9 was there. I was going down to verse 8, 9, 10...12! Verse 11 was gone! I read the whole chapter 9 and found verse11 between 6 and verse 7. How weird! The verse reads this; For by me your days will be multiplied and the years of your life increased. So if you can click on the bible page and see for yourself that verse 11 isn't between 10 and 12.

People who text my cell phone or send me e-mails is where I'll also notice 911 for the time the person had sent it to me.
When you get done reading this. Scroll down and see the time on my very first post the other day. It was actually a mistake. There is no post to read. I was going to try and erase it but I thought I'd just leave it.

Grocery Shopping Tips
Good morning! No it's no ones birthday today and hopefully I'm not forgetting anyone although there still are some more coming up. Today I have to start my grocery list. It takes me three days to prepare it. The first day I have to come up with a menu for dinners for the following week for my family. I write the menu down. Then I go through each individual meal to make sure I have the ingredients in the house. If not, I add it to my grocery list. Then I cut coupons in last week's paper and add them to my coupon baggie. So the first day is done. The second day I actually go through the cupboards, fridge, etc. to see what needs to be added to my grocery list. Plus I'll ask the family members if there is something they want or need. Then I'll decide if their request for gum or the dog needs a new bone is going onto the list or not. After I added everything on the list I will mark a letter before some of the items. If it's cheese and milk, I put the letter 'D' for dairy. If the items are apples and carrots, I put the letter 'P' for produce. And some of the items on my list won't have a letter in front of it. Then I get my markers out. I will take my orange marker and color over the letter 'F's' for freezer. I will take an brown marker and color over the letter 'D's' for dairy, etc., etc. I do this to save me time at the grocery store and because my cart is heavy. Before I leave the dairy section I will check my list first to make sure I have everything that's on my list. Or Before I leave the produce section I will check all the green 'P's' to make sure I got everything in produce before I move on. And it really does help me. My grocery store is big. I'm still on the second day...after I mark all through my list and use the markers I will go through the coupon baggie to see what coupons I can use that week. Then I set my list on my counter for the next morning to go grocery shopping and I put my coupons in my purse. The third day is grocery shopping day. Right before I go I read over my list and make sure I bring it with me. Before I get into the car I make sure I grab all the empty cans. Then I'm off...I would love to hear about your grocery shopping tips.

My Neices' Birthday
Good morning! Today I have two birthdays to mention. First it's my nieces birthday. I hope she has a great day! It's also my little mini Schnauzer, Peeper's 3rd birthday! She's sleeping right next to me. It's the dog days of summer that's getting to her. I have to get my camera up and running so that I can get some pic's of her up on the screen. I just wanted to mention that I chose to go with the color green for my blog because it's summer time and in the Catholic church green it the color of hope.

School Supplies
First of all I would like to wish my sis a Happy Birthday! I love you and I'm thinking of you.
It's that time of year when the kids will be going back to school soon. This is my son's supply list for 2nd grade;

Maybe next year they will tell the kids to bring their laptops!

A Good Day!
Yesterday was a good day. I heard from my dad via e-mail. When I went to church they asked me if I wanted to walk up the gifts. On the way home from church my family and I seen two deer in our subdivision by a small wooded area and I mean small, so it was kind of unexpected. And we do live in the city. I lived here for almost 20 years and never seen two deer in my subdivision before. Plus I got to visit with my mother and father- in-law. And I started my blog! So yesterday was a good day.

One of My Favorite Prayers
I Said A Prayer For You Today
I said a prayer for you today
And know God must have heard.
I felt the answer in my heart
Although he spoke no word!
I didn't ask for wealth or fame
(I knew you wouldn't mind).
I asked him to send treasures
Of a far more lasting kind!
I asked that he'd be near you
At the start of each new day;
To grant you health and blessings
And friends to share your way!
I asked for happiness for you
In all things great and small.
But it was for his loving care
I prayed the most of all!
